Antetokounmpo still needs to polish some of the finer aspects of playing guard, such as running a pick-and-roll and spotting up for jumpers. But! He’s also still days shy of his 22nd birthday. If he’s this good — and this versatile — now, watching Antetokounmpo reach his potential will be one of the NBA’s most entertaining storylines over the decade to come.Check out our latest NBA predictions. Across the nine major component categories of advanced metrics tracked at Basketball-Reference.com,1i.e., categories that attempt to isolate skill in a particular area of the game, rather than more holistic measures such as PER or Win Shares. Antetokounmpo ranks among the top half of qualified2For the purposes of this story, I considered a player to have qualified for the league leaderboard for these nine stats if he has played at least 12.2 minutes per scheduled game (taking the average number of games across all NBA teams), which works out to about 1,000 minutes in a normal 82-game season. NBA players in eight of them — turnovers are the only area where he was worse than the average player through Wednesday’s games. But the Greek Freak is at his most transformative when he plays point guard. When 6-foot-5-inch James Harden — 6 inches shorter than Antetokounmpo — is already towering over opposing point guards after his move to the position this season, the idea of a 6-foot-11-inch terror in the open court, dunking on opponents in transition and making plays for teammates, is unprecedented. Since the NBA-ABA merger in 1976, Toni Kukoc (in 1998-99) was the only player 6-foot-10-inch or taller to have a higher assist rate than Antetokounmpo has right now — and Kukoc wasn’t also rebounding or recording steals and blocks at anywhere near the same rates as Antetokounmpo is.In fact, the mere sight of a guy his size, doing what he does, is startling. Against Cleveland, the side-by-side comparison between Antetokounmpo and LeBron James — heretofore the greatest combination of size, speed and athleticism in basketball — was eye opening:To visualize what an outlier Antetokounmpo is among guards, here’s a plot of Box Plus/Minus against height for players listed by Basketball-Reference as point guards or shooting guards this season: One of the best point guards in the NBA right now stands 6 feet 11 inches tall.Let that sit for moment.OK, so Giannis Antetokounmpo also plays positions other than the point for the Milwaukee Bucks, and Matthew Dellavedova has been eating some of Antetokounmpo’s minutes at the 1. And frankly, it doesn’t really matter where Giannis plays, given that he can rattle off stat lines like the 34 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, five steals and two blocks he produced Tuesday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The guy is good at damn near everything there is to do on a basketball court:
Teenagers do understand the dangers of using cellphones while driving —but they still use them, new research has found.Car crashes kill more teens each year than anything else, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.“Teenagers think about what they do behind the wheel in very different ways than we think about teenagers behind the wheel,” said Marilyn Sommers, professor at University of Pennsylvania’s School of Nursing. For the study, the researchers got 30 teenagers engaged in conversations on distracted driving.“The definition of ‘texting while driving’ is not the same for everyone,” Catherine McDonald, assistant professor in the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Nursing, said. “For example, in their responses the teenagers would indicate that they did not text and drive, but then later would say something like, ‘At a red light, I’ll check my phone’,” McDonald noted. The interviewees made a distinction the interviewers had not. The study appeared in the journal Traffic Injury Prevention.
Ever imagined getting a call of nature and having nowhere to go? That would be awkward. Well not in India, at least not for men. While women have no choice but to suppress the call of nature, men would ease themselves in some corner or wall in full public view. You might give it a second thought on attending to nature’s call, on seeing the condition of public toilets in India. At any given point of time, a woman who wants to pee desperately has definitely thought of this one thing, ‘we wish we could pee while standing.’ Well, why should boys have all the fun? What if women had the freedom to stand and pee! Yes, now that’s possible. Also Read – ‘Playing Jojo was emotionally exhausting’“Ladies – You can now pee while standing,” says Pee-Buddy website. Launched by Delhi based startup First Step Digital in December last year, Pee-Buddy claims to provide women the freedom to stand and pee anywhere such as public toilets in malls, airports, hospitals, highways, railway stations or even those in the metro stations. Pee-Buddy is the first of its kind use-and-throw product that allows women to pee while standing. It is a waterproof paper funnel that can be kept in bags at all times and used in toilets to pee without causing any spills or leaks. It’s a funnel-shaped female urination device (FUD), probably the first of its kind in India. This way they can stay away from infections. On a different note, it is also useful because many times, due to dirty toilets, women hold the urge to urinate for a long time, which is a major reason for kidney stones,” said Deep Bajaj, Pee Buddy, founder as per an agency report. It’s not always the thinking seat that pops up a brilliant idea but at times a road trip does that too. “The inspiration for Pee Buddy came from a trip in 2013,” shares Deep. “We were on a road trip on the Delhi-Jaipur highway. While the men drank beer and water casually, the women did not. Why? While men could pee anywhere and everywhere, womenfolk, on the other hand, needed clean toilets to ease themselves. The idea of a funnel using which women should be able to stand and pee like men was suggested by a friend’s wife. That thought stayed with me and the idea started taking shape thereafter,” he added. “We wanted to keep the name as direct as possible. It’s not an issue which is to be kept under wraps, common toilets are an issue and it was time that it got highlighted with same urgency,” he comments. Public toilets are the hub for infectious water borne and air borne diseases causing UTI and other diseases. Women often end up using toilets in places like KFC, McDonald’s and CCD, but at the cost of buying something, which is not always possible. Pee-Buddy is highly beneficial for pregnant women and arthritis patients who are advised by their doctors to restrict their body movements. The device is more reliable as it is discharged after one use, preventing any chance of bacteria accumulation if used a second time. “I had experienced this issue for women in my life. One with my life partner, during pregnancy, when ladies are a lot more prone to UTI and hence don’t travel much, and second in the case of my mother who had arthritis,” says Deep. Pee-Buddy is available online and in market stores all over India in packs of 5, 10, 20 and 40 for Rs 120, 200, 375, 720 respectively.
After ‘No Shave November’ its time to sport a classy beard to gear up for the party season. Get that suave and urbane look by using some defined grooming tips that work wonders in the cold month, says an expert.Being thick and oily, men’s skin is difficult to clean and suffers the daily trauma of facial shaving and then has to deal with harsh winter which dries and bruises it. Follow these tips and enjoy a groomed and party ready look. Don’t overdo the wash: You must wash your face with a gentle cleanser and shower daily with a good body wash. Avoid using harsh face scrubs or soaps, since it will dry up your skin much more in dry weather, making it appear wrinkled. Stock up on lip balms, one each for home, work and your pocket. A vitamin E lip balm with SPF would be perfect, but plain petroleum jelly would do too. Groom that beard: Daily shavers might be turned off by the scruffiness of their first week to forget it all and shave because of how scruffy you feel. But all you need to do is wash your beard when you wash your face. Not with the same old soap as that will make your face and beard feel drier. You also need to moisturize your beard from the dry winter air. Beginners should try out the incredibly affordable Lavender and Cedar Beard Oil.
