Move-in begins at Binghamton University

first_imgVESTAL (WBNG) — Incoming freshman at Binghamton University have begun moving into their dorms. Harrison Picallo, incoming freshman, says he’s glad BU has taken precautions to keep students safe. Binghamton University says it took students about 30 minutes to get their results in, and students who test positive will be placed in an isolation dorm for at least 10 days. Upon arrival, thousands of students are being tested for COVID-19. The university says they have created a dashboard on their website with daily updates on the number of positive cases.center_img Kellie Picallo, Harrison’s mom, says she was impressed with the university’s communication and felt confident her son made the right choice choosing BU. “So if there’s anywhere to be like any college to go to,” Picallo said. “I’m kind of glad it’s here. At least if there’s any state to be in I’m glad it’s here because we’re actually caring about this issue.” “Also as parents, we’re watching the numbers at Broome County,” Kellie said. “We are really impressed with the level of safety that seems to not only in the state of New York, but in this county in particular.” last_img
