Community members to attend informational meeting

The Alpena County Emergency Medicine Service department is requesting a new millage amount of 1.5 mil to replace the existing millage.The new millage would be in place for four years and the increase would maintain the first responder program, medical supplies and life support operations as well as technology upgrades.According to fire Chief Bill Forbush, first responders attend to about 5,000 calls per year in Alpena County and one ambulance costs about $200,000.Forbush says, “Its important that individuals show up and ask questions to ensure they make an inform decision in August.”  The informational meeting is set for Wednesday June 17th beginning at 7pm at the Aplex.AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to FacebookFacebookShare to TwitterTwitterShare to MoreAddThisContinue ReadingPrevious Students will pay more for lunchNext Alpena Public Schools names interim superintendentlast_img
